Wetsuits

UK weather is unpredictable, which means lots of changes in temperature. It could be wet, sunny, or very cold. Paddleboarders should wear swimwear and other layers to protect their bodies against the harsh wind and cold water. Even though it’s warm and sunny outside, we recommend wearing a wetsuit with a dry T-shirt underneath. UK weather is unpredictable, which means lots of changes in temperature.

In paddleboarding, you should have layers of protection against the cold. Wetsuits and dry suits are top choices. But if you are SUP surfing, we suggest wetsuits to stay warmer in colder waters. If you’re SUP touring or leisurely paddling, choose a more protective layer like dry suits.

While some people just wear a short wetsuit (shortie), we recommend layering up to get the right temperature. Cold and hot weather both make people paddleboard—they wear a bikini or t-shirt, but we prefer the t-shirt when it’s hot because it dries much more quickly.

There is not a ‘one size fits all’ in wetsuits, their are womens wetsuits, mens wetsuits and kids wetsuits. They are actually built differently for the different sexes. In addition wetsuits are available for different watersports including paddle boarding, and open water swimming.
